Job Description
The Linen Distribution Technician provides a superior level of linen service throughout the hospital in a friendly and timely manner.
Job Specifications
- Reports to the Linen Distribution Site Manager
- Delivers clean linen carts to nursing and ancillary units
- Ensures linen area / room is clean at the end of each shift
- Builds carts for the following day
- Complies with SHL Linen distribution policies and procedures
- Maintains inventory records
- Collects and loads soiled linen into carts from soil collection areas
- Fills carts daily to establish par levels
- Tracks usage through either an electronic device or on a spreadsheet
- Ensures linen quality is satisfactory, and reports to Linen Distribution Site Manager concerning any quality issues
- Responds to units calls or pagers regarding urgent needs
- Complies with SHL Safety Programs and training
- Performs other tasks as assigned by department manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to take and follow direction.
- Maintain acceptable appearance per employee Handbook and client location standards.
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Physically able to lift, push, pull, bend, kneel, twist, and move rolling carts (up to 600+ lbs.) throughout the day, with ability to load linen above one’s head and from ground level to standing upright.
- Physically able to collect and lift soiled bags throughout the hospital
- Able to complete duties accurately.
- Must be able to read and write English.
- Must be able to accurately perform simple mathematics.
- Must be punctual.
- Must understand and observe all safety guidelines and recommendations.
