    Mental Health Professional

    Littleton High School is an International Baccalaureate World School where all students in grades 8-10 are enrolled in IB Middle Years Program courses. Students in grades 11-12 opt in to the IB Diploma Program. LHS also offers several AP classes, as well as a STEM Certificate, and Early High School, a unique full-day program for eighth graders on the LHS campus. LHS also hosts the district English Language Development programming for high school students.

    This position is intended for a Counselor, Social Worker, or School Psychologist to support students in grades 9-12 with social emotional and mental health needs. This position is currently approved for one year with the possibility of continuation based on board approval.

    Desired skills and/or abilities:

    Demonstrate effective group facilitation skills, comfortable teaching classroom lessons; ability to work with students individually and in whole-group settings; strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to maintain and demonstrate flexibility in responding to changing needs.

    Ability to establish and maintain curriculum to support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs as they relate to a positive high school experience; create and maintain cooperate and collaborative relationships with colleagues, community members, students, and families; desire and ability to function as a team member; knowledge of effective behavior management techniques; ability to case manage; skills and knowledge in crisis intervention.

    Functional or bilingual Spanish is a preference.

    Salary is determined by placement on the Licensed Salary Schedule according to education and experience.

    Education/Certification:

    • Minimum of 60 graduate semester hours for the preparation of counselor, school psychologist or social worker.
    • Hold or be eligible to hold a Colorado Department of Education License.
    • Hold appropriate endorsement(s) as counselor, school psychologist or social worker.

    Experience:

    • Successful completion of internship in counseling, school psychology or social work.
    • Previous teaching experience subject are and/or level is desirable.
