Reports to: Instructional Design Manager

Location: Sylmar, CA

Pay Range: $21.00 - $24.00/hourly

The compensation range provided is in compliance with state specific laws. Factors that may be used to determine your actual rate of pay include your specific skills, years of experience and other factors.

This position is currently located in Sylmar, California, and will relocate to Santa Clarita in the third quarter of 2023. We do not provide remote or hybrid employment.

Job Description

Position Overview

The Learning Management Systems Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day technical and operational support for Vallarta Academy, Vallarta Supermarket’s learning management system (LMS). This role is the first line of support for end-users and educates them on using the system efficiently to access and complete assigned training. The LMS Administrator manages enrollments and assignments, uploads new courses and content, marks courses as complete, runs reports, and resolves technical issues, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

User Management

  • Creates user account profiles and login credentials.
  • Assigns user account permissions.
  • Resets user account profiles.

Course Management

  • Creates course information and publishes both English and Spanish courses.
  • Updates course information and publishes revisions to existing courses.
  • Manages course enrollment, both automatic and manual.
  • Creates learning paths with assigned courses.
  • Creates enrollment groups for auto-assignment of courses.
  • Archives courses and blended learning solutions.
  • Manages tracking of course revisions and history.
  • Creates and manages the overall course structure and sets up courses based on specifications from the Instructional Designer.
  • Publishes new and updated learning resources.
  • Manages course completions.
  • Schedules standard and custom course completion reports and other reports, as needed.
  • Analyzes reporting data and recommends strategic direction, as appropriate.
  • Works with HRMS team, as needed.
  • Works with LMS vendor, as needed.

Troubleshooting

  • Manages the Vallarta Academy inbox and resolves tickets.
  • Provides the following troubleshooting support: login/password issues, general LMS functionality, issues with courses, software systems, reporting, course assignments, as well as other issues related to the LMS and courses operating on the LMS.
  • Serves as point of escalation for support issues, which may include interaction with LMS vendor and other vendor support services.
  • Reviews and monitors system performance.
  • Works with the Instructional Design team to resolve technical issues related to course content.
  • Assists with LMS and course testing, feedback collection, and updates as required.
  • Delivers projects efficiently so that tasks are completed on time and problems are anticipated or resolved quickly.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with colleagues on the Training team, and companywide.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience working with file directories, file structures, learning management systems, or knowledge management systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Collaborate and be a thought partner with others at all levels of the organization, and vendors.
  • Quickly learn and gain new technical skills.
  • Customer service skills including a responsive attitude, friendly and professional demeanor, and manages all issues through to completion.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; communicate complex concepts concisely and clearly.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Manage changing priorities effectively.

Required Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year experience as an LMS administrator or similar position.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish required.

Physical Demands

  • May have to occasionally do some light lifting of supplies and materials.
  • Long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers.
  • Occasional video conference calls.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a non-exempt level corporate position; Monday – Friday, 8:00am-5:00
