Job Summary:
Responsible for leading the Logistics team to work successfully and safely to meet the needs of its customers, both internal and external. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating and executing its assigned logistics process(es). Monitor inventory levels, inbound and outbound shipping plans to ensure accurate, targeted volumes are received or delivered on time as required to meet customer demand and at the lowest cost possible.
Duties:
Ensures delivery and cost goals are achieved through teamwork and clear communication. Train and develop analysts, coordinators and operators for success in the team’s goals and for future opportunities. Create a positive and highly effective working environment based on mutual respect and a shared goal of being the number one supplier to our customers. Evaluate and update the shipping schedule, overseeing scheduling and execution and ensuring products are delivered on time, and projects completed within the deadline. Other tasks of a Logistics Part Leader include budgeting, planning and utilizing needed human and material resources.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Safety & Environment:
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety programs.
- Monitor and ensure timely distribution of safety alerts and incident reports.
- Develop plans to optimize the logistics conditions and service rates.
- Reduce waste through continuous improvement activities.
- Coordinate with the Safety, Health and Environment team to eliminate risks of hazardous material exposures.
- People:
- Hire, train, and manage the workforce.
- Coach, teach, and mentor subordinates.
- Provide timely feedback on performance.
- Maintain an environment that encourages initiative, creative thinking, and self-motivation.
- Quality:
- Monitor product standards.
- Implement and oversee quality control programs.
- Identify all controllable failures and eliminate with permanent corrective actions.
- Responsiveness:
- Develop shipping schedules and duty assignments.
- Develop plans to attain monthly and annual cost goals.
- Monitor inventory levels and respond accordingly to ensure OEE and customer delivery targets are met
- Cost:
- Analyze and reduce costs.
- Minimize logistics expenses to lower costs.
- Approve expenditures for supplies, materials and vendor services.
- Work with the accounting team to create a budget and spending plan.
- Understand the financial impact of production results.

Qualifications:
- B.S. required in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Management, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years leading/managing multiple functions.
- Automotive Tier 1 experience required, ideally with a global organization.
- Prior management experience, ideally leading teams of 50+ employees.
- Ability to maintain accountability and discipline, and achieve results, in a dynamic, growing environment while leading a 24/7 operation.
- Strong computer skills: MS Office and ERP systems.
- Able to work flexible hours as needed to support entire production team.
