Job Summary

Under the supervision of Physician/Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to provide quality nursing care for assigned patients. Demonstrates a commitment to professional accountability and growth to maintain and expand knowledge and skills. Contributes to the achievement of the mission and philosophy of the Organization. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

Speaks and communicates effectively with patients, families, and coworkers. Operates a computer utilizing a variety of software applications. Understands and carries out oral and written instructions. Can critically assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands. Accurately performs all nursing skills within scope of practice.

WORKING CONDITIONS, HAZARDS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

Works in a well-lighted, ventilated and air conditioned area. Schedule may consist of weekends, holidays and shift work. Often exposed to unpleasant odors, sights and sounds. Long periods of standing, walking, stooping heavy lifting and bending are required. Risks exposure to disease, infection and physical strain and assault. Risks exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. independently.

CONTACTS WITH OTHERS:

Patients, physicians, Associates, other health care providers, community resource personnel, administrative staff and Organizational support services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR EQUIVALENTS:

Education: Graduate of an accredited LPN training program.

Experience: Three (3) years LPN experience in clinical setting preferred. One (1) year mandatory.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS:

Current LPN license in the state of Kentucky. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (successful completion within three [3] months of employment). Comply with BCDC training.
