The primary function of The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) practices under the direction or supervision of the professional registered nurse. The LVN implements nursing care for assigned patients and assists the RN in the assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of nursing care. This includes demonstrating competency in strong basic patient care skills, clerical/courier duties, stocking, transporting, and performing EKG’s, phlebotomy, specific patient care duties, and other departmental duties as requested. May be floated as needed treating all diversities. Actively demonstrates a passion for patient care while demonstrating service recovery if needed and displays service excellence at all times. Follows standard of care as defined within scope of Licensed Vocational Nurse and reflects the American Nurses Association’s Code of Ethics for Nurses and the Nurse Practice Act of 2015.

• An LVN currently licensed by the State of Texas
• Completion of an IV Therapy Course
• Possess current BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire and maintain certification throughout employment
