Our 400 students from 63 cities and towns around central Massachusetts represent a variety of different backgrounds that contribute to a unique and diverse learning environment. In January of 2020, the school unveiled a 5-year strategic plan, BluePrint125 a product of extensive internal investigation and collaborative discussion among the Schools many constituents. In recent years, the School has made significant investments in campus upgrades to improve energy efficiency, air quality, and public safety. Other major campus enhancements have included the creation of flexible, multi-functional learning spaces in the areas of performing arts, athletics, and technology. Position Summary Bancroft School seeks a part-time Lower School Spanish teacher responsible for grades 1-5 starting in January 2023 for the remainder of the 2022-2023 school year. We are looking for a person who is passionate about teaching young children and who can speak and write fluently in Spanish. A native speaker is preferred but not a requirement. The design of the Lower School language program is to introduce students to the study of a language other than English and to increase cultural awareness. Candidates should have teaching experience at the elementary level and a background in the Spanish language. They should possess the ability to enrich and implement an age appropriate language curriculum, preferably with a Comprehensible Input approach. Flexibility, creativity, and a collaborative spirit are also essential.
