Position Summary:

Support plant production needs for daily operation, changeovers, and outbound shipments. Primarily responsible for the initial processing of newly molded plastic parts. Tend injection-molding machines that automatically form plastic containers. Observe continuous operations of molding machines and the conveyance of product to assure correct operation. Corrects malfunctions and notifies supervisor, or maintenance of abnormal or unusual problems. Keeps records and logs associated with production. May adjust controls or may program machine console to produce molded plastic containers according to specifications. Performs insert changes as required per Production Control Documentation and customer requirements. Perform checks to keep machine operating effectively. Handles and inspects finished product for defects, and takes corrective action. Ensures First Articles are compliant. Other duties may include, but are not limited to:

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the start & stop of all machines & auxiliary equipment.
• Responsible for processing machines, making machine adjustments.
• Needs to follow appropriate lock out/tag out procedures and other preventive maintenance procedures
• Responsible for making color changes, plate changes and insert changes
• Reads PCDs and follows instructions
• Responsible for making quality adjustments.
• Communicate effectively with quality department, supervisors and shift personnel.

Records machine down time in the system and creates appropriate documentation

Requirements:

• Must have a high School diploma or equivalent
• Experience working in a Manufacturing Environment

Experience with plastic injection molding is preferred
Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform simple machine adjustments and repairs
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Understand plant safety guidelines and pass all required safety training
Understand plant safety guidelines and pass all required safety training
Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions
Troubleshoot problems and report issues
Must work well in team environment
Must be able to understand PCDs

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hand and arms; and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
