The Opportunity:
The Mail Clerk II position is responsible for sorting and delivering United States Postal Service mail and inter-departmental mail pieces to university departments, student housing, satellite campuses, and Greek Park residences on campus.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide courier services for the delivery of regular, accountable, and time-sensitive mail pieces and supplies.
  • Sort and stage incoming USPS and inter-departmental mail pieces.
  • Maintain working knowledge of proper USPS procedures and customer preferences and location-specific delivery requirements.
  • Process outgoing mail via high-speed mail metering machinery.
  • Prepare outgoing first class, bulk mail, pre-sort mail, international mail, express mail, certified mail, registered mail, and inter-campus mail for delivery.
  • Collect data, tabulate data, and report on Postal route, cost, and mail volume data.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in logistics or a large mail room setting.
  • Ability to logically organize thoughts and analyze information and data.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to foster productive working relationships with others.
  • Working knowledge of proper USPS procedures.
Health Assessment Required:
The UCF policy requires completion and passing of a physical exam for this position.
Special Instructions:
Position requires a valid Class E driver’s license. The position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
