Maintenance and Janitorial Crew

Schedule per week: (Monday -Friday 7am to 3pm)

Location: Paterson, NJ

Job Specific Responsibilities and Duties: Perform all maintenance and janitorial tasks as assigned by the Unit supervisor Director of Operations or Maintenance Supervisor which include:

1. Perform service and repairs of electrical and general building maintenance such as:

a. Repairing holes in sheetrock and plaster walls, spackling and painting same.

b. Making minor electrical repairs, light switches, replacing bulbs, ceiling tiles and fixtures, etc. as assigned. c. Be familiar with operating the air-conditioning and/or heating system(s).

d. Repairing doorknobs, latches, locks and responsible for the keys. Responsible for the building’s security system (if any).

Responsibilities:

Bathrooms:

Ensure that paper towels and toilet paper are always in holders and never on the floor or on counters.

Check and fill all soap dispensers.

Fill up bleach, soap and water bottles for each room and ensure that the bottles are labeled.

Clean all bathrooms, making sure you clean the entire toilet, under the lid, bottom of toilet as well as the wall behind the toilet.

Clean toilet area and sink in the bathrooms with bathroom disinfectant.

Clean mirrors in the bathrooms with window cleaner, sweep and mop floor, and take out trash.

Clean and sanitize any spills or unexpected accidents staff immediately

Kitchen & Hallway:

Clean sink area by kitchen with comet with bleach, wipe counter by sink with bleach, sweep floor, mop floor and take out trash.

Vacuum along hallway, vacuum offices that need to be vacuumed.

Clean all glass windows with window cleaner.

Offices:

Clean all offices take out trash, sweep floor, mop floor, vacuum, and take out trash.

Clean employees lounge, wipe tables, sweep floor, mop floor/vacuum and take out trash.

Clean mop sink daily and ensure that mops are clean and hanging, mop bucket is clean and empty when not in use. Keep water clean at all times, this means that water is to be changed after cleaning each room.

Building Exterior and Interior:

Keep walkways free and clear of any and all debris.

Empty garbage cans and change liners as assigned and/or when requested.

Sweep and mop floors in the foyers as assigned.

Clean windows, doors and surfaces in the foyers as assigned.

Weekly Responsibilities:

Wash and keep clean garbage cans with disinfectant.

Dust furniture in offices and hallways.

Clean supply room, and mop sink room (see item # 15 above).

Clean cleaning cart with disinfectant.

Wipe down walls where needed.

Notify supervisor in a timely manner if cleaning supplies need to be ordered.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma and at least 1 year experience in Facilities Maintenance. Valid Driver's License. Must possess ability both to work independently and follow directions. Must have knowledge of housekeeping and infection control procedures.
