Maintenance Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Assistant contributes to our joyful & vibrant communities by working alongside the Maintenance Director, helping with the physical maintenance of the community by assisting with repairs, painting, landscaping and safety checks.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Adheres to and conveys philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and a home-like environment for residents.
- Assists in implementing preventative maintenance program for facility equipment.
- Maintains grounds including outside community repair, lawn maintenance and garbage removal.
- Maintains inside of community, offices and common areas in community including carpet and furniture cleaning, window cleaning, painting, removal of trash and upkeep of vinyl.
- Maintains clean, neat comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
- Participates in the Safety Committee.
- Prepares apartments for move in and completes refurbishing of apartment after move out, including painting of apartments.
- Observes and helps resolve problems that relate to the community and the grounds. · Avoids loss, breakage, and waste of supplies and equipment.
- Assists with housekeeping as needed.
- Maintains records of resident repairs and works performed.
- Performs janitorial tasks and minor repairs.
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Education or experience sufficient to meet position requirements or as required by State regulations.
- Meets all mandatory health requirements by state regulations.
- Ability to work independently.
