Position: Maintenance Technician I
Department: Maintenance
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6am-2:30pm
Location: Williams Site, 20260 Williams Hwy
Summary: This position is responsible for helping to maintain efficient production and operations throughout the plant. The following duties are performed in a courteous manner thereby contributing to the overall successful operation and growth of the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties as assigned:
- Operate forklift, scissor lift and other equipment upon completion of onsite training.
- Follow all Lock Out Tag Out policies and procedures.
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment associated with various tasks.
- Ensures efficient operations of all machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on motors, hydraulic pumps/cylinders, conveyor systems, bottling and processing equipment. Follow operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, engineering specifications and diagrams.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems, using precision measuring, and testing instruments to diagnose problems, and otherwise troubleshooting all malfunctions. Repairs damaged or faulty equipment in a timely manner.
- Perform building maintenance to include, lighting, plumbing, painting, light carpentry.
- Perform electrical and hydraulic duties on an as needed basis to ensure the facilities and production equipment are performing appropriately.
- Ensures efficient use of maintenance resources and tools to accomplish expected results. Disposes of damaged equipment or expended supplies safely and in accordance with DEQ regulations.
- Maintains equipment, parts and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level and notifying Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Planner, anticipating needed equipment, parts and supplies.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Ability to work in a team environment without close supervision
- Must pay close attention to detail
- Ability to detect issues and troubleshoot
- Fosters teamwork and collaboration
- A pre-employment physical is required prior to employment
- Ability to follow all Safety procedures and Company Safety Policy and wear all personal protective equipment as required.
- Possess knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices
- Aptitude for learning new computer software
- Current valid Driver’s License
- Ensures efficient department operation by participating in all team meetings, willingly assisting co-workers to balance workload.
Education and Experience:
- Two-year college or technical school degree or certification (A.A), 2+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
- Basic math and computer skills are necessary
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as electrical and mechanical blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent walking, bending, reaching, standing while performing maintenance tasks; must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. on a frequent basis and up to 75 lbs. occasionally. Work environment can be noisy requiring PPE; conditions may include occasional exposure to outdoor weather and slippery surfaces. A pre-employment physical is required prior to employment.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Interpersonal Skills:
Ability to quickly organize and communicate thoughts, and to understand communications from others. Ability to maintain composure, listen and respond appropriately. Participates in all team meetings, sharing ideas on continuous process improvement with the supervisor and team members.
