Job description
The Maintenance Worker will work Regular Full-Time Days, 7AM - 3PM and will perform duties and assigned tasks following VHS, manufacturers and OSHA guidelines and procedures in the safest possible manner.
- The Maintenance Worker will be responsible for collecting and disposing of all rubbish, and will repair windows, doors, floors, walls, and ceilings (as needed).
- Then Maintenance Worker will also install metal studs and sheetrock, paint interior walls and exterior, as needed.
- The maintenance worker will assist in construction and repair of all building and grounds related equipment.
- Operate and perform routine maintenance on VHS vehicles to include driving for ADC as needed or assigned.
- Then Maintenance Worker will remove snow and ice from parking lots, walkways, driveways, entrances, and steps. He/she will also maintain grounds by mowing, raking, cutting, and fertilizing. Re-seed, plant, care for trees, shrubs, flowers, and lawns. Keep grounds free from litter and debris.
- Required to work weekend rotation and "on call" hours.
- Answer all Maintenance calls.
- The Maintenance Worker will clean area and tools upon job completion, and complete job sheets and check sheet and return to DES or Maintenance Supervisor daily.
- Complete any job tasks assigned by DES or Maintenance Supervisor.
- Attend all required in-services and follow all department and facility policies including use of personal protective equipment.
- Maintain CONFIDENTIALITY of all pertinent resident care and employee information and follow HIPAA and HIV regulations.
- The previous statements are illustrative only. The position requires that you perform all duties necessary to maintain a sanitary, secure, and comfortable building and grounds. These duties may be housekeeping or maintenance oriented.
- The primary function of this position is to perform a variety of semi-skilled tasks to maintain a sanitary, comfortable, and secure environment for the residents, visitors and staff. The tasks will include but are not limited to; maintenance, building repair, security, snow removal and plowing, grounds-keeping and transportation tasks and some housekeeping if necessary.
Education/Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Must possess good general knowledge of building and trades but need not be a journeyman.
- Must possess a current violation free driver license.
