ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Ensures the receipt and shipment timeliness and accuracy for all materials.
Maintains and manages the inventory cycle count process to ensure excellent inventory accuracy.
Manages relationships with parcel, LTL, and full truckload transportation providers.
Works closely with transportation broker and freight payment auditor to implement best total cost options.
Establishes and maintains practices and policies to ensure honest, fair, and ethical relationships with vendors.
Executes the observance and integrity of location identification and stock rotation.
Creates, reviews, and updates department procedures for best practices and regulatory compliance.
Develops and coordinates implementation of warehousing diagrams and identifies appropriate storage locations.
Ensures adherence to all Distribution procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements and Company policies and practices.
Develops, establishes, and provides for the maintenance of business reporting related to Distribution activities.
Maintains contemporary professional and legal knowledge related to industry trends, practices, and development in distribution, transportation, warehousing, material handling, and inventory management. This expectation includes international shipping, hazardous materials, and technology. Makes recommendations for implementation of new approaches.
Exercises administrative control over the personnel assigned to Distribution (e.g., training and development, departmental orientation, salary reviews, performance appraisals, etc.).
Mentors and coaches Distribution personnel to help growth in positions including development of skills and future potential and maintain a high level of knowledge in warehousing and distribution.
Develops and presents to Vice President, Supply Chain Operations, matters requiring input and/or decisions.
Directs optimum performance of Distribution activities and responsibilities.
Recommends and implements techniques to maintain safety, improve productivity, increase efficiencies, minimize costs, and maintain state-of-the-art practices.
Leads Distribution by contributing innovative ideas, expertise, knowledge, high professional standards, team spirit, and pride in the Company.
Manages department budgets, investigates variances, and proactively implements improvements.
Directs all Distribution-related activities, regardless, if performed by department staff or by outside contractor(s). MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees, manages, and tracks employee performance. Functions as a strong team-builder, coach, and mentor for staff while creating a very collaborative environment.
Creates, nurtures, and supports a positive work environment that reinforces the Company's core values and goals. Develops constructive solutions to employee relations issues.
Solicits input from staff during departmental planning, decision-making, facilitating, and process improvement.
Consistently available to staff; provides regular performance feedback, develops subordinates' skills, and encourages growth.
Defines and implements a comprehensive program of staff development and career growth. REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
A 4-year college degree in business administration or a related discipline is required; An MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.
The knowledge and skills required for this position are typically acquired in 6 to 7 years of experience in a Distribution environment. Management training is also essential for this individual.
Must possess working knowledge of all facets of warehousing, distribution, transportation, and inventory control - preferably within a manufacturing environment.
Considerable interpersonal skills are required, including those related to persuasion and human relations.
Considerable management skills are required to successfully perform the planning, directing, reporting and administrative responsibilities of this position.

Salary: $45,634.14 - $121,774.57 per year
