Who We Need :
As our Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Systems Manager you will be responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures that prevent injuries, protect employee health and assure compliance with occupational health and environmental regulations for Penn Color, globally.
In this role, the EHS Systems Manager partners with the site management teams to create and develop training tools, processes, and other programs to enhance a culture of sustainability and safety performance.
The EHS Systems Manager defines and implements safety metrics, measurements and scorecards to provide measurable safety performance across the organization, and leverages safety performance information to assess root causes to recommend effective corrective actions.
As a safety role model and subject matter expert, the EHS Systems Manager positively influences operational and technical employees at all levels of the organization to improve safe behaviors and advance our safety culture.
The EHS System Manager reports to the EHS Director at our corporate headquarters in Hatfield, PA.
Your Education will include:
- B.S. in Chemical Safety or similar technical degree.
- Professional registration as a Certified Safety Professional, Industrial Hygienist or other recognized EH&S certification
Your Knowledge, Skills and Experience will include:
- 5+ Years of EHS experience in an industrial/chemical manufacturing environment
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Working knowledge of NFPA and ANSI standards
- Self-motivated with strong interpersonal and time management skills
- Proficient in verbal and written communication skills
- Experienced in conflict resolution and problem solving
- Committed to employee and community service
- Oriented toward team success and willing to accept a variety of assignments as necessary to achieve results
- Effective change agent
- Demonstrated team builder and team leader
- Experienced mentor to safety teams and co-workers
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Access and Outlook.
- Basic knowledge of ISO 14001, 45001
- Familiarity with international Safety and Environmental regulations a plus
What YOU Can Do For Us :
- Develops Process Safety Management practices, conducts reviews and provides training to support operations
- Implements systems to regularly assess and update industrial hygiene programs
- Provides systems for Hazard Communication and Chemical Hygiene planning
- Develops and supports employee EHS orientation and training programs
- Assures compliance with NFPA 70E and assists in electrical classification determination
- Evaluates and monitors facilities for compliance with NFPA 654 for combustible dust characteristics and provides systems and recommendations to mitigate associated hazards
- Develops and oversees site Safety Committees
- Develops and maintains incident management systems and associated corrective action follow up procedures
- Develops and performs environmental, health and safety audits at all levels of the organization
- Implements site specific inspection requirements for safety and sustainability performance
- Develops systems and procedures to comply with state/local facility regulatory permits
- Collaborates in the development of information systems and reporting methods to support compliance with state and federal chemical reporting requirements
- Develops and implements EHS system manuals, policies and procedures
- Travel approximately 20%
- Other duties as assigned
