As part of the corporate accounting team, the role manages and performs accounting and administration for all of the company's leases and accounting for real estate, equipment, auto and other leases throughout the United States and Canada.
What You'll Do Here:
- Oversees the following Lease Accounting and Administration responsibilities:
- Manages Lease Administration and Lease Accountant team who process invoices for all company leases and enters all new leases into the company's lease administration system.
- Reviews lease invoice coding for propriety.
- Interacts with lease vendors as needed.
- Ensures the lease accounting system is updated for changes to leases.
- Interacts with the Legal Department, Supply Chain, Business Operations, and Technical Accounting to ensure that all lease contracts and contract changes are identified and included in the company's lease population.
- Reviews monthly lease journal entries for propriety.
- Reconciles general ledger lease accounts for all operating divisions.
- Provides monthly, quarterly, and annual fluctuation explanations and analysis for lease related balance sheet accounts.
- Supports the Technical Accounting group with Form 10-Q and 10-K lease accounting disclosure, and the Tax department with lease information needed for tax accounting.
- Ensures GAAP and SOX compliance over the leasing area.
- Primary point of contact for External and Internal Audit requests related to leases.
- Work closely with business units to develop lease expense budgets and accurately project lease expense forecasts.
- Leads the ERP implementation as it relates to lease accounting.
- Attracts, hires, retains, organizes, develops, manages, recognizes, and rewards a motivated workforce capable of achieving short- and long-range business objectives within company policies and procedures.
The Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance concentration or equivalent experience
- CPA preferred
- 8 or more years of experience performing accounting and financial analysis
- Understanding of US GAAP
- Familiarity with ASC 842
- Experience in Lease Accounting and Administration preferred
- SAP experience preferred
