Ferguson has a phenomenal opportunity open for a Manager of Tax Planning and Controversy on the Tax team.
Location: This role is based in Newport News, VA with an opportunity to work a hybrid, flexible schedule.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Tax Planning, the Tax Planning Manager plays a leadership role in global tax planning initiatives for the Ferguson tax team.
Lead US tax planning initiatives including research and development credit process, management cost allocation study and merger and acquisition activities.
Lead aspects of US and state income tax audits and engage periodically in global tax audits. Interact with tax authorities on behalf of the company.
Responsible for leading aspects of Ferguson’s transfer pricing activities including engagement with our external service providers, providing necessary data to external team, reviewing of master and local country reports and preparation of country-by-country reporting.
Ensuring that reporting and compliance impacts of planning initiatives are well communicated to the Compliance and Reporting team and any SOX requirements related to projects and planning are accurately implemented.
Coordinate special projects as the need arises.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws affecting the company and update relevant partners as appropriate.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent work experience required.
5+ years accounting firm and corporate tax experience. Multinational corporate experience a plus.
2+ years tax planning experience.
Proven understanding and strong knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 740.
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to interact as a proactive strategic business partner.

Strong intuition for business and analytical skills.
Proficient with technology commonly employed by finance and tax departments.

Pay Range:
Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
