As a Manager, Production Plant Logistics, you will play a critical role in creating a seamless bond between production plant and finished good storage, handling and shipping as you lead the Logistics process onto an engaged transportation approach. This includes but is not limited to management of relationship and communication with 3PL’s, Carriers, Freight Forwarders, and Customs Broker. This role provides an opportunity for someone who thrives in a logistical environment with a purpose to “make it happen” and help solve the complexities in a dynamic and continually changing environment.


Mission/Objectives

The role will have responsibility to act as an extension of the plant team but also oversee inventory management at the plant and at the 3PL, handle transportation and lead company process to a higher maturity. Act as point person for logistics system projects, elevate reporting, team leadership, vendor management, process review and improvement, increase efficiency and effectively communicate to increase Logistics visibility. The role must have strong technical skills.

This position will also focus on supplier relationship building, developing KPI’s and monitoring carrier performance while keeping a fine balance between cost and service level. Developing and supporting innovation, ensuring that the business consistently achieves its planned goals and objectives.

Leading the team on projects and initiatives generated by regional and global management, relying on data to prioritize company projects.


Key Responsibilities & Activities

  • Lead Logistics maturity growth on inventory management, process continuity, transportation, vendor management, and reporting so to meet company standards and service requirements
  • Overview processes to incorporate efficiencies
  • Ensure compliance on all Campari fished products for imports, exports and domestic bonded storage
  • Have a clear and good understanding of Global Distribution to think outside of the box on DV and ISO Tank containers transportation
  • Create reporting and KPIs to ensure Vendor accountability and performance monitoring
  • Oversee and execute Logistics projects on processes, system interfacing, inventory management
  • Ensure export documentation compliance by reviewing destination country’s requirements
  • Arrange inventory grouping for direct shipment handling from the plant
  • Design process flows and system steps for finished goods inventory
  • Monitor carrier performance and focus/report on carriers with service issues to tackle a course of action in order to reduce or eliminate service failures
  • Build a strong relationship and keep close communication with 3PL warehouses and with production plant so to keep exports moving timely
  • Ensure performance increase on timely pick ups and follow up on missed appointments
  • Enhance SAP processes and suggest/implement system changes where an area of opportunity is identified
  • Approve carrier invoices
  • Deliver cost savings through the continuous improvement of the different logistics levers, developing and implementing plans to optimize
  • Jointly manage key Supplier Relationships with Operations & Procurement
  • Support and seek advice from local and regional team regarding technical content, SLA’s and KPI’s for any new supplier set up

Experience, Education & Personal Traits

  • At least 5 years’ experience in Operations/CPG/Manufacturing/Warehousing/Transportation
  • Experience in developing and managing 3PL’s relationships
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Spirits transportation knowledge is a plus
  • Team player who thrives in a self-directed, collaborative and fast paced environment
  • Frequent involvement in reviewing performance and processes with other departments
  • Strong ability to maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers with the ability to be flexible, responsible, positive and able to confidently communicate
  • Strong smart decision making and problem-solving ability with attention to detail
  • Thrives in an environment that is fast paced and able to adapt to changing situations
  • Highly proficient in Word, Excel and familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems
  • Experience in the FMCG sector of Wines & Spirits is considered a plus
