The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Associate or Experienced) located in El Segundo, CA.
Position Responsibilities Include:
Provides production engineering build architecture expertise that advances production technologies and design requirements
Leads collaboration between Design Engineering, Systems Engineering, in support of Integration & Test stakeholders
Influences Satellite: vehicle architecture, product structure, and design features to address producibility requirements and mitigate production risk (MRL) through concurrent development of concept flows and incorporation of DFMAT principles
Leads development and implementation of lean principles and technologies
Leads and develops concept requirements for Tooling, Equipment, and Ground Support Equipment designs
Collaborates with Industrial Engineering to develop and meet production system takt time, throughput rates, cycle times, bottle neck analyses, resource utilization rates, and work cell staffing & support requirements
Leads implementation of new technologies and initiatives through collaboration with enterprise Subject Matter Experts to leverage enterprise best practices, lessons learned, research and technological expertise
Leads development of associated checklist artifacts for Enterprise Standard Gated Practice (ESGP) and Common Non-Recurring Product Definition (CNRPD)
Collaborates with upper management and program leadership for long-range planning
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including: Associate or Experienced Level Manufacturing Engineers.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
2+ years experience working with Visio, Mind Manager, PowerPoint or other process mapping/diagram applications.
1+ years’ experience with Engineering within a Production or Manufacturing Environment.
1+ years of experience in using computer-aided design (CAD) tools to design Systems components.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Understanding of DFMAT principles
Experience with automation design and implementation
Ability to obtain U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance / Tier 5 (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).
Typical Education/Experience:
Associate (Level 2)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Experienced (Level 3)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range (Level 2): $80,750 – $109,250
Summary pay range (Level 3): $96,050 – $129,950
