Manufacturing Engineer

Rapid Die Cut(“RDC”) is a rapidly growing digital manufacturer and converter of custom parts made from various non-metal materials. We serve 20+ industries in North America and provide custom-cut parts for hundreds of different applications.

We seek a highly motivated, self-starting, and professional individual with B2B manufacturing and operations leadership experience who understands software and software-driven technologies - a leader who will drive manufacturing back-end processes, automation, and optimize/continuously improve efficiency and outcomes on a production floor for an exciting, profitable, and fast-growing digital manufacturing company.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, review, and improve the procedures and equipment involved in all of RDC’s manufacturing processes.
  • Research automation techniques, research, evaluate, and test new systems, and plan factory layouts and human/machine processes to optimize production.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement or modifications.
  • Improve work processes, product design and assembly by applying their advanced knowledge to the manufacturing process.
  • Closely collaborate with the company’s CEO and CTO to integrate all manufacturing processes within RDC’s proprietary software applications and commercial objectives.
  • Develop and continuously improve company processes to help the company meet budgets and performance goals.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Proven work experience (5+ years) in operational design in advanced manufacturing, industrial, or automation environment.
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing operations.
  • Deep, relentless, intellectual curiosity and motivation for daily improvement.
  • Strong computer skills (3D CAD, 3D Modeling) and a familiarity and/or deep interest in agile software development for a manufacturing production environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills. “Solutions, not short cuts.”
  • High proficiency in product development and computer-aided engineering software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, “works with passion and drive.”
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, communication, and writing skills.
  • A humble yet strong leader, who sets an example every day and “leads from the front.”
  • Strong commercial and customer sensibilities paired with a creative engineering mind. Proven ability to contribute to sales and profit goals through active improvement of manufacturing processes.
  • Undergraduate (BS) and ideally advanced degrees (MS/PhD) in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing operations, computer science, or mathematics.
