Our client specializes in Manufacturing measurement devices used in the Mining and Oil & Gas Industries. They are looking for a Mechanical Designer to join their team! The position and located in Pasadena, TX and looking to pay $73k - $85k per year. This is a direct hire role.

The candidate in this position must be someone who has experience with office and manufacturing environment. Must be experienced in conceptual design.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Evaluates, analyzes, and makes recommendations on products, designs, and cost improvements to improve the competitive position of the company.
• Interfaces with other teams in the organization and customers to jointly determine customer needs and solutions
• Procures materials needed to construct prototypes and supervises the design engineering of new models.
• Familiarity with basic machine components: levers, linkages, bearings, shafts, springs, screw threads, complex mechanisms
• Familiarity with basic machine tools: lathes, grinders, mills, presses, EDM’s
• Familiarity with material and mechanical properties for common metals, alloys, and industrial polymers
• Plans and develops test programs for prototypes.
• Analyzes test data and reports to determine if designs meet functional and performance specifications.
• Analyzes, evaluates, sources, and coordinates the procurement of new materials to support model changes.
• Analyzes, evaluates, and recommends cost improvement ideas through product, vendor, and design changes.
• Performs technical analysis of competitive products.
• Provides support to sales and marketing on product presentations and customer support.
• Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks.

Education and Experience

· 2+ years of Product Design Experience

· Basic Working Knowledge of SolidWorks

· Hand Tool Knowledge

· Machine Shop or Mechanical Assembly Experience
