Job Duties and Responsibilities


  • Work with fixturing group in order to support Mechatronics product development activities.
  • Work with fixturing group to ensure fixtures are capable of supporting multiple projects with minimal changes/retrofit and reduce the quantity of spare parts to maintain them.
  • Develop and maintain bills of material and drawings for all fixturing/equipment.
  • Support prototyping activities, purchase/manufacture of components, prototype builds.
  • Develop test processes and equipment that optimizes quality, operator economics and efficiency.
  • Training of lab personnel to properly and safely operate lab equipment.
  • Conduct validation testing per design validation plan.
  • Prepare concise and accurate test reports.
  • Setup, operation and maintenance of lab equipment.
  • Follow Program Management and Stage Gate development process to meet project goals
  • Support / Implement continuous improvement ideas to improve lab safety and efficiency.
  • Familiarity with Ariba/SAP purchasing system.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or testing environment.
  • Knowledge of fixture designs utilizing a 3D software design package, preferably NX.
  • Support tolerance stack up analysis of designs.
  • Familiarity with Geometrical Dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Experience with machining capabilities and techniques.
  • Understanding of and experience with DVP&R
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical prints.
  • Electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics knowledge and troubleshooting experience preferred.
  • Proficient with lab equipment: DMM’s, Oscilloscopes, Environmental Chambers, Data Acquisition Systems, etc.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office to collect and manage data required
