Job description

As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the pain management office. You will support the doctor and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care, organization, and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patient with a friendly demeanor and make their visit comfortable
  • Interview patients and document basic medical history
  • Organize and schedule new consults, follow-up visits, procedures, and prescription refill appointments
  • Update and file medical records and insurance reports
  • Arrange laboratory services and X-ray, MRI, or CT scan appointments at other facilities
  • Answer phone or email messages from patients and update their charts
  • Assist during medical examinations or procedures (record vital signs, prepare procedure trays, help the doctor move the x-ray machine, clean room between patients, administer some medications)
  • Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes, and forms

Skills

  • Proven working experience as a medical assistant. Will consider newly graduated MAs
  • Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise work
  • Social perceptiveness and service oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Google Forms
  • Degree in medical assistance

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, PRN

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

COVID-19 considerations:
Masks will be required for patient interactions but not around the office. Policy may change depending on local, state, or federal regulations.

  • Sterling Heights, MI 48312: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
