Position Summary:
This is skilled technical work providing both clinical and administrative duties. Effective performance requires the ability to adjust to new methods, techniques, and procedures as well as tolerate a busy office environment that requires constant interaction with patients, employees, and physicians. Knowledge of clinical operations is essential to effective performance. Effective performance requires independent judgment and action under moderate supervision.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Calls patient from the waiting room and places them in the exam room or procedure room.
- Prepares patient for the exam. Prepares a brief history/medical record update for physician.
- Assists physician with treatment as require. Offers patient education in the office or on the phone as directed by physicians.
- Maintains adequate supply of clean instruments in the exam rooms. Straightens up exams and procedure rooms prior to subsequent examinations. Prepares injections for physicians.
- Manage medication orders as prescribed and directed by the physician.
- Processes messages and relays information to patients/staff as directed by physicians.
- Tracks all patient paperwork through the course of the patient’s visit.
- Orders and stocks all clinical supplies.
- Performs related accountabilities/responsibilities as required or directed.
- May need to float to other WellCare Physician Group offices
Job Requirements:
- Registered, Certified or three years of recent experience as a medical assistant
- Current BLS Certification
