• Basic math, bookkeeping and accounting skills
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding to review and modify daily charges/diagnosis for accurate submission of claims to payors
• Electronic submission of claims using Allscripts software
• Correcting rejected claims, process appeals and resubmittals
• Follow up on missing claims within standard billing time frame
• Track unpaid insurance responsibility balances and contact payers to resolve if needed
• Maintain database of current reimbursement rates based on insurance contracts
• Accurate posting of electronic EFT's and paper EFT's/checks by mail
• Prepare daily bank deposit by providing record of insurance and patient payment totals
• Post patient and insurance payments
• Secure necessary medical documents requested by insurance companies
