Director of Medical Library
Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is seeking a Medical Library Director to join the team. This position is full-time working Monday to Friday day shift.

Requirements for consideration:
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field.
- Master from an ALA accredited program or equivalent field, preferred.
Experience :
- Five years of related professional experience and two years of management experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- As a Director of the Medical Library, you will direct Library and Information Services operations by ensuring high quality, efficiency and responsiveness.
- To help achieve our mission, you will maintain effective and responsive relationships with patients, attending medical staff and other departments.
- Your ability to manage department finances including budgeting, control of salary/non-salary and capital equipment expenses is of vital importance.
- Managing staff including day to day supervision, team member relations and staff development is required.
- responds promptly to requests from other departments within the operating unit and maintains cooperative relationships accordingly.
- Ensures adherence to service excellence standards and the provision of outstanding service to internal and external customers.
- Takes an active role in various interdepartmental, system-wide and community outreach committees providing support in all areas of education, research and knowledge-based health information.
- Coordinates and monitors the development of long-range plans and annual budgets for Library Services.
- Monitors financial performance to ensure budgeted revenue/expense ratios are meet.
- Participates in contract negotiations with other institutions for the provision of services by and for the library.
- Selects, hires and trains staff to perform assigned functions at a competent level.
