Retina Associates of Orange County is a retina group of renowned board-certified Ophthalmologists who are fellowship-trained in vitreoretinal surgery and specialize in diseases of the retina, macula and vitreous.

Our doctors have a remarkable history that combines teaching at prestigious academic institutions in concert with excellence in patient care in the private practice setting. We are a growing practice located in Laguna Hills, Newport Beach, and Santa Ana.

The Office Manager will provide directions necessary to the staff and manage Retina Associates of Orange County's clinics, including clinic operations, patient care and service quality.

An ideal candidate should have experience in ophthalmology and the ability to effectively utilize skills in medical billing, staff management, patient care, customer service, and understanding the dynamics of the market.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the front desk and billing, ensuring smooth claim processes throughout the practice.
  • Reviews and processes doctors' credentialing packets and supporting documentation. Follows up with doctors to ensure all information is obtained. Complete and process payer enrollment applications for doctors for Medicare/Medicaid/Commercial insurance/managed care or other plans.
  • Oversees HR and ensures effective administration/implementation of compensation, benefits, job descriptions, personnel policies, and payroll practices.
  • Staff supervision, staff recruitment, onboarding, staff training, performance evaluation, counseling, disciplinary actions, termination, and delegating authority as appropriate.
  • Provides directions to the office staff and executes planning, coordination, and clinical operation.
  • Oversees development, implementation, and creating/maintenance of appropriate standard operating procedures, standard work, and policies to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines.
  • Inventory management: Assists director of operations with monitoring high-value drug dispenses and track payments.
  • Resolves administrative and operational issues, including the maintenance duties of clinical properties, computer systems and software applications.
  • Leads quarterly board meetings with the physicians and initiates weekly staff meetings.
  • Travel between offices as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

Education:

Bachelor's Degree

Experience:

Previous ophthalmology management experience required.

Minimum 3 years of experience in medical billing.

Experience in managing clinical operations across multiple sites preferred.

Other:

  • Able to stand and move throughout the office.
  • Able to travel between the offices at the last minute.
  • Exceptional problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent communication skills are required.
  • People management skills required.
  • Coordination and organizational skills are required.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

All patients are required to wear masks during their visits. Common area surfaces are disinfected regularly.
