Medical Receptionist Team Lead

UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is the largest Orthopaedic group in Western New York. We are looking for Medical Receptionist who are ready to take that next step into a leadership role. We are hiring for this position at two (2) of our locations;
- Orchard Park Office located at 5959 Big Tree Road, Orchard Park NY 14127
- Amherst Office located at 4949 Harlem Road, Amherst NY 14226. This location will be moving to our new building, 111 North Maplemere, Williamsville NY 14221 in July 2023.
The Lead Medical Receptionist (LMR) is required to perform all duties of the Medical Receptionist and function as the resource person to reception staff at the assigned site. The LMR acts as a liaison between management and staff to assist in enhancing efficient patient check-in operations. In close collaboration with the Location Manager, the LMR will have the following job duties;
- Assist in determining and coordinating staff assignments.
- Schedule and establish coverage for reception staff (absences, lunches, vacations).
- Supervise the reception staff in all activities to ensure high quality standards are met and that the facility and patient check-in run smoothly.
- Assess new staff members' strengths and development opportunities.
- Clearly communicate operational expectations/changes to reception and provider staff..
- Assist in ordering office supplies to ensure appropriate stock is maintained.
- Support and execute direct patient check-in duties.
- Assist with recruiting, hiring, and training of reception staff.
- Perform comprehensive evaluations of the job performances of all receptionists on an annual basis.
- Ensure that specified patient check-in procedures are consistently followed.
- Ensure that the reception staff maintain the highest level of ethical and professional conduct.
- Develop strategies to drive continuous improvement in patient utilization of kiosks.
- Support specific project/task requests from upper management on an as-needed basis.
Qualifications;
Education
- Associate Degree preferred, High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
- Healthcare environment.
- Experience leading a team.
- Patient registration experience desired.
- Medical Terminology.
- EMR experience required, Medent preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- Must be proficient in the use of all office equipment (computer, phone, fax, scanner, copier, etc.) Superior communication and customer service skills. Must be detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task effectively while working in a fast-paced environment. Must also possess excellent organizational skills.
Physical Activity - Requires sitting, standing and walking associated with a normal office environment. Manual dexterity needed for telephone and keyboard operation. May be asked occasionally to lift and carry items weighing up to 30lbs.
Work Environment - Work is performed primarily in a clinical setting, with light to moderate noise levels.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
