Member Experience Coordinator
Job description
DO YOU ENJOY ENGAGING WITH OTHERS? The West End YMCA in Willoughby is hiring a full time Member Experience Coordinator.
Hours: 40 Hours Per Week; some evenings and weekends may be required.
Starting Rate: $15 per hour

Requirements:
- Drive membership engagement & retention process for the branch. Conduct interviews and tours for prospective members.
- Administer member on-boarding programs, engagement challenges, activities, and events.
- Maintain understanding of current branch programs. Connect member’s interests to healthy living orientations and available programs. Attend programming with members as needed.
- Promote program enrollment and connections with existing and potential members.
- Coordinate member appreciation events.
- Perform member exit surveys as needed.
- Train staff on system usage, implement best practices, and update staff on system upgrades.
- Collaborate with Member Engagement Director to ensure quality service delivery to all members and guests.
- Assist in the development of marketing and communication to branch members and staff under the direction of the Director of Marketing & Communications and Member Engagement Director. This includes monthly newsletters, email communication, and flyers etc.
- Work with Member Engagement Director to train, develop and direct personnel and volunteers as needed. Assists with developing strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School graduate or equivalent; one year or more of college preferred.
- One to two years of sales and/or customer service experience required.
- One to two years of group exercise/ fitness instruction experience preferred.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all segments of the community.
- Proficient in all standard business software.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Light work. Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- The worker may be subject to noise.
- Occasionally subject to environmental conditions and unstable surfaces. Activities occur mostly inside.
- Ability to: stand, sitting, stooping, kneeling, and crouching occasionally during the work shift; use hands and fingers for fine motor skills occasionally; walking on a variety of uneven surfaces and climbing stairs occasionally; receive detailed information through sound as well as express through spoken word; read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
