GENERAL OVERVIEW OF Program
Next Generation Project is a N.J non-profit youth organization registered as a 501(c)(3) status, which was founded in 2015. Our program addresses the social, emotional, academic and cultural needs of youth at risk(Facing a lack of guidance). Our mission is to help our community by providing them with a reliable mentoring program that will shape the next generation of youth. Our program works to give these youth guidance and support as we help prepare these young men/women for their present future. We work to build relationships with our youth that will positively influence them as they work to make their communities better. Our goal is to empower these young men/women and enhance their future by making them leaders in today’s society.
ESSENTIAL & CORE FUNCTIONS:
1. Provides emotional support, time structured activities and positive behavioral reinforcements.
2. Implements interventions needed for success, which includes but is not limited to helping the students to get along with others, making new friends, providing opportunities for fun, and initiating constructive use of leisure time.
3. Completes and submits progress notes, required documentation, etc.
4. Attends and participates in supervision, staff meetings, etc.
5. Completes all paperwork within specified time frames.
6. Other duties and responsibilities as requested.
7. Ensure youth participants are engaged in meaningful work that matches the job descriptions provided by the employer sites.
8. Verify and manage time and attendance of all youth participants via daily timesheets.
9. Participate in daily group program monitor check-ins. Work with fellow program monitors to solve problems and ensure a high-quality youth work program.
10. Develop mentoring relationships with students through informal and formal interactions including weekly check-ins, follow-up and trust-building activities.
11.Coach and mentor youth as necessary on navigating the workplace.
12. Follow assigned curriculum for each week
Education:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. Current college students or candidates with experience working with youth programs may also apply.
Experience:
Experience monitoring or reviewing youth activities/programs for compliance with established standards and working with youth in formal school or extra-curricular settings for a minimum of one year is preferred.
License:
Appointees will be required to possess a valid driver’s license or comfortable using public transportation to travel citywide
Compensation:
$20-25 per hour based on experience. UP TO 5HRS PER WEEK.
