The Buyer Support Supervisor provides direction to the Buyer Support Specialists by assigning, directing and reviewing the work of the staff all while also providing administrative support to the Merchandising Department by conducting research, preparing statistical reports and handling information requests. The Buyer support Supervisor will also perform administrative functions such as preparing correspondence, arranging conference calls, scheduling meetings and maintaining files for large cross functional events and other merchandising operations projects.

Essential Job Functions The incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Supervise and lead the Buyer Support Specialist Team including hiring, training, assignment delegation, performance evaluation, corrective action and termination of employment when necessary.
  • Lead and support the Buyer Support Specialists in prioritizing work projects to assure all critical information is sent to our stores and/or suppliers in a timely manner.
  • Prepare concise, literate, and logical analytical reports, spreadsheets, and presentations for internal and external audiences using word processing, spreadsheet, database, and/or presentation software that both summarize key data trends and detail their relevance.
  • Read and analyze incoming memos, submissions, and reports in order to determine their significance and plan their distribution.
  • Coordinate Merchandising related meetings, workshops and/or seminars including the preparation of any required materials.
  • Attend CFT meetings in order to record minutes
  • Monitor, execute, and communicate all deadlines established by Category Managers and Merchandise Management
  • Review operating practices and procedures across all of merchandising in order to determine whether improvements can be made in areas such as workflow, reporting procedures, or expenditures.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience required
  • 3-5 or more years of related experience
  • Experience with retail environment preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to handle sensitive data
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent computer skills, with MS Office Applications: Word, Excel, PP
  • Excellent problem solving skills
