Job description
Successful candidate must live or relocate to within a 45 minute drive to the Woodlawn Service Center.
Install and maintain self-contained electric meters energized up to 240 volts in the shop and on customer premises.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS are listed below:
- Read meters as required for field order and on schedule for cycle billing
- Install, remove, change disconnect, and reconnect meters
- Test singlephase, network, and polyphase self-contained meter for proper operation and accuracy
- Program meters
- Perform Credit and Collections related order including disconnect and reconnect for non-payment
- Investigate irregular usage
- Investigate energy diversion
- Repair meters, meter sockets, and meter enclosures
- Order, receive, ship, store, and inventory meter and associated equipment
- Investigate self-contained service power quality problems, install event recorders, neutral testers, and produce reports
- Perform work from ladders and elevated platforms

- Within 24 months of employment, successfully complete the Company's training and qualification program for this position including: classroom instruction; written examination; job mentoring; and job performance demonstrations
- Work overtime as needed including extended daily shifts and weekends
- Work late shifts as needed
- Work independently under semi-direct supervision in a safe-efficient, and productive manner
- Proficiently use computers and applications related to this position
- Effectively communicate with other employees, customer, and the general public in a courteous and appropriate manner
- Promote a positive image of the Company to customer and the general public

- Report hazards and abnormal conditions
- Attend and participate in training as assigned and assist in the training of other employees
