Wood Systems Inc., a division of Mill Creek Lumber & Supply Company is seeking a strong Microvellum Engineer/ Drafter to join our team. Candidate must have commercial millwork experience interpreting architectural drawings, and have the ability to use that information to produce detailed shop drawings for submittal and cabinet production. Our engineer will work within a small team to break down scope of work into work orders including all detail drawings, cut bills and machine programs required for work to run through the shop. Wood Systems is in the process of changeover from Cabinet Vision to Microvellum, and the person in this position will play an integral part in that changeover. This position is not available for a remote worker, however, relocation assistance is available! Help us build America!

Duties and Responsibilities*

  • Actively participate in the development of Microvellum for our growing company
  • Use Microvellum to create live shop drawings
  • Use Microvellum to create accurate CNC files for production
  • Program Microvellum components to the shop floor
  • Produce material requisitions from drawings for purchasing
  • Coordinate with Project Manager to maintain fabrication and installation schedules
  • Assist in maintaining our custom Microvellum product library
  • Interact with drafters, shop personnel, designers
  • Help develop custom Microvellum products
  • Update shop drawings to incorporate all equipment, plumbing and appliances that fit into millwork
  • Verify redline corrections made by Submittal Engineer
  • Update all shop drawings to match field measured openings
  • Break down custom fixtures into individual parts for programming to CNC Machines
  • Coordinate bills of materials needed for production, and communicate via email whenever inadequate materials are available
  • Efficiently communicate with multiple parties in a fast paced work environment
  • Operate with a mindset open to change, innovation and continuous improvement

Experience in woodworking/millwork

  • Strong time management skills/comfort with deadline driven schedule
  • 3 years of Microvellum experience
  • Experience with a Microvellum system implementation a plus
  • Proficient in AutoCAD – 2D Drafting
  • Knowledge of European/Frameless style cabinet design
  • Ability to interpret architectural blueprints
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Outlook
  • Skilled in both verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Sharp eye for detail
  • Experience using project management/ERP software is a plus
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree is not required but is a plus

Work completed in a general manufacturing, climate controlled office environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
