Boeing Global Services is currently seeking a Mid-Level Structural Analysis Engineer to become part of the Vertical Lift Service Engineering team in (Ridley Park, PA).

The Vertical Lift Service Engineering team provides technical support for V-22 and CH-47 customers. The team is also responsible for delivering Service Bulletins, providing CH-47 aircraft delivery planning and execution for international customers.

You will develop, integrate and document structural requirements to establish the system design. Responsibilities may also include coordinating with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment. You will guide product design and verify structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance. You will develop test plans and configurations, support test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. You may also define and document certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.

You’ll be working under general direction and oversight where growth opportunities are available.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options (Ridley Park, PA). This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural analysis, including damage tolerance, fatigue, and strength.

  • Document and publish/release structural designs and analysis results.

  • Ability to evaluate complex vehicles and systems from a multitude of perspectives. Includes the ability to apply figures of merit and integrated optimization tools. Ability to perform multi-disciplinary trade studies to evaluate configuration alternatives for functional and spatial integration.

  • Skill and ability to: collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.

  • Ability to analyze problems (troubleshooting, fault isolation, repair, modification, or redesign) of assigned end items to support the design, development and modification of company products using knowledge of engineering disciplines (ME, EE, etc.).

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

  • 1+ years of experience aircraft stress analysis/structural analysis

  • Experience with aircraft structures and post-production field support

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years’ experience with structural repair design.

  • Experience using Boeing Systems and tools.

Typical Education/ Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
