General ResponsibilitiesWishram School District will have an opening for a full-time certificated MATH TEACHER (Middle school/High School) beginning with the 2023-2024 school year. We are launching an expansive search to find the right person to join our team. Were looking for candidates who have a passion for improving educational opportunities for rural students and for candidates who are willing to go above and beyond to support students in achieving academic goals. Wishram School is a K-12 school with enrollment of 65-75 students which provides an optimal small school setting and we take great pride in having the ability to provide each student with the skills necessary to be successful. Salary Details:Current base salary range for the 2023-2024 school year is $59,474-$99,532.
Essential Functions/Other FunctionsEssential Functions:
- Plan and implement a program of study following state and district standards that meet the individual needs and abilities of the students by providing effective, differentiated instruction using research-based practices.
- Implement instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for achieving stated objectives for instruction and student success, including use of technology.
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum student outcomes.
- Participate with other staff to cooperatively plan, develop, and implement a course of instruction designed to meet the needs of students in all curriculum areas.
- Educate special needs students within the regular classroom environment in collaboration with other staff.
- Create a classroom environment that is safe and conductive to learning for all students.
- Participate with other staff to cooperatively develop effective, positive techniques for improving student behavior.
- Participate in State, Federal and District testing requirements.
- Provide positive supports and guidance to a diverse population.
- Manage student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and an optimal learning environment.
- Assess students academic learning and/or skills for the purpose of supporting teachers expectations, developing methods for improvement and/or reinforcing classroom goals.
- Maintain accurate, complete, confidential, and timely records as required by law, District Policy, and Administrative Regulations including attendance, IEP information, progress reports, cumulative records, and classroom inventory.
- Confer with colleagues, administrators, students and/or parents when necessary.
- Collaborate with school personnel and parents for the purpose of improving the quality of student performance, developing solutions and planning curriculum.
- Become familiar with and uphold the enforcement of school rules, Administrative Regulations and Board Policy.
- Demonstrate a professional and positive attitude when carrying out responsibilities as a faculty member.
- Perform assigned out-of-classroom supervision and other duties.
- Participate in staff meetings, planning events, and grade level/department/PLC meetings.
- Participate in total building program, including assemblies, contests, and other student activities.
- Engage in ongoing professional development.
- Holds a valid Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Washington State Teaching Certificate with proper endorsements.
- Our school is in the town of Wishram, WA located in the heart if the renowned Columbia Gorge on the banks of the beautiful Columbia River. Its a short distance away from The Dalles, OR and Goldendale, WA. The small town of Wishram (Approximately 350 residents), is rural and an ideal family/recreational setting. The community is very supportive of the school and its staff. The School has a K-12 enrollment of 60-80 students and class sizes range from 5-17 students. Wishram School is staffed with one Superintendent/Principal, 10 certified teachers, and 11 classified staff members. Additional educational staff is provided by Educational Service District 112, Special Services Cooperative. Staff turnover is generally low. Curriculum is provided during a eight period day and all grades begin and end the instructional day at the same time.Employment Requirements:
