Compensation: $73,000-80,000/year

About You

We are seeking a qualified military analyst II to join our Mission Command Battle Lab and Army Futures Command support team. The Mission Command Battle Laboratory (MCBL) is Futures Command’s lead for examining and evaluating emerging mission command concepts and technologies, through analysis and experimentation. This position is within the Science and Technologies branch.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Research technologies, events, doctrine, and experimentations related to Command and Control.
  • Collect, assess, and document relevant requirements.
  • Produce executive summaries, white papers, and other reports for management.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
  • Research for C2/EAB capability development.
  • Conduct background research and government-provided literature review on possible event topics.
  • Research ops/future studies, focused analyses, current/future ops assessments for full spectrum mil ops
  • Background research, plan, conduct briefings/planning meetings to support standalone/federated sims.
  • Solicit input from key planners/leadership and update/brief changes at mid/final planning conferences.
  • Experiment Support for C2/EAB capability development
  • Execute & facilitate events, analytically review, draft final reports & submit historical documentation.
  • Provide architecture analysis, tech demos/assessments/experiments/studies & other application support.
  • Provide analytical/scenario support/input for initial/mid/final planning conferences & IPR's.
  • Plan, coordinate, collect data, to support the daily Analytical Huddle/scrums during conferences.
  • Brief daily EXCONs and prepare/brief an EXSUM to experiment directors/project lead/COR.
  • Administrative: Other Duties as Assigned



Required Skills & Experience


  • Candidate must have at least 6 years of military experience.
  • Candidate must have recent operational experience as a staff member at a brigade-level or higher.
  • Must have an active Secret clearance.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Candidate should be familiar with Microsoft Office products.
  • Should have a working knowledge of current US Army and Joint doctrine.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MEL 4 or equivalent course (CGSC, SMC, WOSSE, CES Intermediate course or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with the JCIDS process.
  • BA/BS degree from an accredited University.
  • Service at a division/corps or higher staff.
  • Wargaming and experimentation experience.
