Who we are looking for:

Atkore, a recipient of a Great Place to Work© certification and a Top Workplaces USA award, is searching for a Millwright/Maintenance Technician to be based out of our Phoenix, AZ facility. Reporting to the shift supervisor, this person will be broad responsibility for troubleshooting, performing preventative maintenance, and working on a variety of different equipment. This person will need to work with the production and maintenance team to communicate issues and ensure quality production.

What you’ll do:

  • Install, maintain, modify, and repair all mechanical systems and associated equipment
  • Inspect, test, and troubleshoot components of mechanical systems, including: pumps, valves, and associated piping
  • Inspect, test, and troubleshoot components of mechanical power presses and associated support equipment
  • Inspect, test, and troubleshoot components of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Utilize blueprints and manufacturers’ installation manuals to complete assigned projects
  • Align and calibrate machinery and equipment parts as required for efficient and safe operation
  • Complete work orders and record material utilized on jobs
  • Must maintain production standards to meet internal and external customer demand
  • Responsible for the accurate completion of all paperwork, transactions, tags, etc.
  • Adhere to all Life Saving Rules, including: Lock-Out, Tag-Out (LOTO), Machine Guarding/Bypassing Safety Controls, and Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) safety protocols
  • Ensure Safety, Delivery, Quality, and Cost metrics are met daily
  • Support 5S initiatives in assigned work areas
  • All other duties as assigned

What you’ll bring:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Journeyman classification preferred
  • One year of manufacturing experience preferred
  • Basic math and verbal skills
  • Ability to learn to use and maintain equipment and machinery
  • Ability to follow standard work processes and operate with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to lead, assist, and/or instruct employees in the performance of their duties, as requested
  • Flexibility of shift scheduling, to include overtime and weekends

  • Must possess a positive attitude, be a team player, and have strong work ethic.

Within 3 months, you’ll:

  • Complete initial training.
  • Be able to troubleshoot production issues and support maintenance needs for operations.
  • Assist production teams to ensure production areas are operating, preventative maintenance is completed and down time is minimized.
