Music/Choir Director/Zion Baptist Church
Zion Baptist Church located at 225 Hatton Street in downtown Portsmouth VA 23704, is looking for a talented individual to lead its adult choir. The choir currently serves every Sunday.
The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: directing vocal performances of the choir during morning worship services and special church engagements, leading the musical portion of the church’s worship services on Sundays and special services as needed, scheduling and holding regular choir rehearsals.
Job Requirements: The successful individual must be a professed and practicing Christian, will have professional musical training, and 3 years or more of experience teaching, leading, and directing church choirs. Ability to read printed music a plus, e.g., church hymnals and improvise as appropriate. The individual is able to play the organ, piano, and keyboard. The salary for this position will be discussed during the interview.
