Disney Live Entertainment combines the best in artistry, music, and storytelling with cutting-edge technology to bring wonderful new shows and events to Disney Parks and Resorts for audiences around the world. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Music Production Specialist to join the Disney Live Entertainment Music Production team based in Orlando, FL, which serves properties and experiences worldwide. The Music Production Specialist works with the Disney Live Entertainment Music Department to help produce timeless music at the Walt Disney World Resort and beyond. You will support and take direction from the Principal Music Producer and the Music Producers.
Responsibilities
In partnership with staff music producers and department leadership, the Music Production Specialist provides project management support for all Disney Live Entertainment music production efforts led by the Orlando-based music team.
- Implement and adapt project management tools which track project timelines, budgets, schedules and content delivery milestones.
- Build and adapt a process to track contract requests and consultant payments
- Build and adapt a process to track music clearance inquiries
- Attend production meetings as needed
- Provide logistical support as needed for recording sessions, rehearsals, and venue mixes
- Support processes and systems which streamline communication with production teams
- Assist with media routing and file management for DLE audio content
- Submit and maintain cue sheets to Disney Music Group
- Coordinate and monitor character voice repayments
- Design and manage database of composer/arranger info including demo reels
- Design and manage database of VO talent info including recording samples
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years relevant music industry or performing arts management experience
- Passion for administrative project management and the business side of music production
- Ability to adapt quickly to change, manage multiple tasks, and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and file-sharing software
- Proven experience designing and maintaining databases/tracking systems
- Understanding of music production, contracts and budgets
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Confidentiality and discretion are a must
- Ability to take initiative and work with limited supervision. Proactive and resourceful.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with unions (EQUITY/AFM)
Preferred Education
- BA or BS preferred in Music Business or equivalent professional experience.
