Job description
Essex Westford School District is seeking a full-time music teacher beginning in the 2023-2024 school year at Essex Middle School. This position may require some teaching of lessons before and/or after the typical student day. Candidates with experience working in another country and the ability to speak more than one language fluently, and/or Peace Corps. experience are encouraged to apply to help contribute to a diversity of thinking and grow our organizational practices.Candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:
  • Hold (or be eligible to hold) a valid VT Educator license with a Music endorsement.
  • Experience working with middle-grade students preferred.
  • Understands the importance of social and emotional learning (SEL) and can effectively integrate SEL in music teaching.
  • Knowledge and/or experience using backward design for lesson development, differentiated instruction to support all students, and formative assessment to provide student feedback and adjust lesson delivery.
  • Dedication to providing students with a safe and respectful learning environment.
  • Excellent teaching, organizational, planning, written and oral communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Effective integrates transferable skills into the learning environment.
