Mckinney Trailer Rentals, a rapidly expanding semi-trailer rental and lease company with over 35,000 trailers is searching for an experienced maintenance professional for the position of Director of Maintenance. The primary responsibility of this position is to assist our branch management team with managing our service departments at Mckinney’s (15) locations in California, Oregon, Texas, Arizona, Washington and Colorado. Expect to travel 50% of the time as frequent visits to branches are required.


The National Accounts Maintenance Manager
position is responsible for monitoring and planning national account maintenance schedules and vendor networks to ensure ongoing business continuity and customer satisfaction with well-maintained equipment. The National Accounts Maintenance Manager role has been created to manage sales relationships with the largest accounts as well as managing our contractual obligations. The primary purpose of this role is account growth, retention, and contractual renewal through sustained and effective maintenance plans reducing future failures and preventing down time.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for achieving maintenance interval objectives and growing contracted vendor network.
  • Writes estimates and purchase orders for repairs or modifications to trailers, tractors, equipment and containers.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local government and company standards for reliability and safety.
  • Ensures that all client bill backs are in accordance with Mckinney bill back policy.
  • Manage after-hours service /ERS program.
  • National Account Service Manager territory to include but not limited to assigned accounts and/or geographical territory.
  • Develop annual plans to manage, grow, and retain assigned maintenance revenue and contractual relationships.
  • Develop a deep understanding of account organizations, decision-making, and business priorities to meet the ongoing needs of the client.
  • Investigate problem areas and develop programs to produce a more effective preventative maintenance plan.
  • Develop vertical industry knowledge to create innovative solutions to customer needs.
  • Partner with Sales Account Managers in meetings and calls.
  • Other duties may be assigned by Director of Maintenance and/or VP’s.
  • Understanding customer key requirements and developing KPI’s that will be communicated to the customer internally.
  • Cooperate trailer purchase management. Establish vendors in areas units are purchased to get trailer up to spec.

  • Have knowledge & expertise in fleet maintenance requirements.
  • Knowledge of vehicle components specifically related to the trucking industry.
  • Ability to communicate and corroborate with senior management, branch managers, technicians, suppliers, and customer both verbal and written.
  • Ability to handle fast paced, changing environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and databases


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED), or five years service experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in management and supervision.


OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES


  • Positive attitude, high energy, passion, and driven individual with a desire to succeed.
  • Must be willing to commit to 50% travel.
  • Must be able to climb in and out of a trailer.
  • Attention to detail and highly organized.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to physically inspect trailers inside and out by climbing in and out of the trailer as well as underneath the trailer.
