Looking for a Counselor/Nature Specialist to work at Indian Springs Day Camp. Founded in 1959, Indian Springs Day Camp is located on 46 acres of rolling countryside in beautiful Chester Springs in Chester County, Pennsylvania. Boys and girls, ages 3-14, experience the best in recreation, fitness and learning.

Must be available all 39 days of Summer Season - June 19th to August 11th (closed July 4th)

Hours are Monday to Friday 9 am to 3 pm.

Lunch is provided. If a candidate has children of their own, their kid(s) can come to camp at no cost for the summer.

PA State Child Abuse and Criminal Background Clearances will be necessary for employment if hired.

Our camp's philosophy includes individual attention for all campers, a limited enrollment, safety in every area, the best staff available, and an open line of communication with our parents.

Camp Counselor/Nature Specialist Job Responsibilities:

• Provides high-quality educational and recreational opportunities and enjoyable experiences for camp participants.
• Supervises campers and ensures their safety, development, growth, skill achievement, and general well-being.
• Maintains a schedule for camp participants.
• Knows and understands all emergency procedures associated with the camp program.
• Mediates any campers’ disputes.
• Knows, enforces, and follows all safety guidelines associated with the camp program, including knowing the whereabouts of your campers at all times.
• Maintains constant surveillance of the pool/body of water areas.
• Work with various groups of campers while engaging them in Nature Study.
• May instruct an additional camp special based on applicants individual talents
• Will occasionally fill in for absent staff members

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $300.00 - $400.00 per week

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Experience with Children: 1 year (Preferred)
• Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• First Aid Certification (Preferred)
• CPR Certification (Preferred)
