JOB TITLE: NDT Technician
PLANT/DEPARTMENT: Quality/NDT DIRECTED BY: NDT Level III
IMPORTANT WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Team Leaders, Manufacturing Engineers, Weld, Machining, Process, Paint, Production Control, Customers, and other required inspectors.
DIRECTS: None
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
Meets and demonstrates safety in the workplace. Meet all requirements of NDT B-2. Ability to perform advanced welding or fabrication tasks as assigned with minimal guidance or supervision. Ability to meet or exceed routed hours with minimal quality errors. Highly proficient at following and looking up weld procedures, work instructions, and inspection criteria. Meet & demonstrate all safety requirements. Meet & demonstrate all safety requirements. Demonstrate the ability to meet routed hours with acceptable quality.

MAJOR DUTIES:
- Welds or fabricates basic to advanced weldments with minimal quality errors (as outlined in LSSI stamping procedure as well as dimensional nonconformance)
- Perform number 1 above with similar proficiency as full time Welders in same A category
- Work from advanced drawings and job layouts
- Read and understand weld symbols
- Advanced crane operations and rigging – larger, most complex
- Perform quality checks throughout process (dimensional, flatness, fairness, warpage, etc.)
- Operate hand burn plasma and torch
- Understand and apply weld sequencing
- Advanced fabrication techniques and application on larger, most complex
- Advanced straightening techniques
- Train and mentor other employees (welder or fabricator)
- Other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift, push or pull up to 60 pounds
- Long periods of standing, kneeling, and climbing.
