Job Summary


College Technology Services (CTS) needs an individual that has general networking skills, such as the ability to configure routers, switches and wireless access points. We are also looking for someone who has experience with VoIP systems, either on premise or cloud based services. In addition, we need someone who has experience working with Cisco Network Academy environments and setting up labs for instructors. We are not looking for someone who will do network engineering or architecture, but someone who has a solid skill set in network technologies.

Essential Functions


30% - Designs and modifies systems and interfaces; analyzes new technologies for potential applications; supports servers, systems, and applications; installs, configures, analyzes, debugs, maintains, and troubleshoots software and hardware; performs testing and documentation; performs fundamental analyses for system and network issues

25% - Leads project teams; performs coordination and oversight for assigned projects; assists and trains users

15% - Assists with the development, review, modification, and implementation of forms, policies, and procedures; works with the college network team to maintain and engineer the campus network at large

10% - Performs intake, evaluation, triage, and coordination of requests for data, records, and information; researches, retrieves, assembles, and reviews data; performs preliminary analysis

10% - Researches industry standards, trends, best practices, and emerging technologies and makes recommendations for operating software, systems selections, and implementation

10% - Works with vendors to diagnose problems

Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology or directly related field and one full-time equivalent year of experience designing, configuring and installing hardware and software, training users and maintaining servers and data communication equipment.

OR


Associate’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution and three full-time equivalent year of experience designing, configuring and installing hardware and software, training users and maintaining servers and data communication equipment.

OR

High School Diploma/GED and five full-time equivalent year of experience designing, configuring and installing hardware and software, training users and maintaining servers and data communication equipment.

Desired Qualifications


A. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)/Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Certification or equivalent.

B. Direct hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting and deploying Cisco/Meraki switches, routers and wireless access points and controllers.

C. Direct hands-on experience configuring, managing and troubleshooting network analysis and security tools, such as Plixar Scrutinzer, Thousand Eyes, etc.

D. Direct hands-on experience configuring, managing and troubleshooting VoIP environments such as Cisco Call Manager.

E. Direct hands-on experience working with Cisco NetAcad classes and in person and/or virtual lab providers

F. Experience working in an educational environment.
