Job Summary:

Compass Point Federal (Compass Point) is hiring a seasoned Network Engineer with experience and expertise in designing and implementing cloud infrastructure in support of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as an advisor to the ATF Advanced Wireless Support Services project and/or program leads pertaining to security vulnerabilities and/or incidents.
  • Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
  • Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
  • Developing tracking documents to note system.
  • Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies, defining and monitoring access. Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Implement and manage Microsoft Active Directory as it applies to projects. Reporting network operational status by gathering prioritizing information; managing projects.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Supports corporate initiatives, proposals, and business development activities as requested.
  • Propose enhancements to existing managed service environment.
  • Participate in change control process with a team of cloud and network engineers.
  • Automate processes and builds where possible to reduce manual effort!
  • Develop operational environment to meet customer SLAs.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 years of relevant experience in technical field.
  • Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in technical discipline OR a combination of other forms of training/education, OTJ training, and relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • General IT experience in following: LAN Knowledge, Proxy Servers, Networking Knowledge, Network Design and Implementation, Network Troubleshooting, Network Hardware Configuration, Network Performance Tuning, & Problem solving.
  • Project Management skills including Budget Tracking & Management
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with experience in people & stakeholder management (varying levels)
  • Ability to pass law enforcement agency background check & obtain a Top Secret Clearance
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, and ability to communicate complex technical ideas to many audiences.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Dept of Justice Network Experience
  • Experience with Cisco and Fortinet products.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance & ability to obtain and maintain up to Top secret clearance is highly desired.
