Job Summary:

The Southwest Healthcare Regional office in Temecula, CA is seeking a Network Engineer. This position will be onsite at our Rancho Springs Hospital and will be responsible for all network infrastructure equipment: data/voice closets, routers, data switch, wireless access point, internet appliance, firewall, and VPN hub. Duties include but not limited to:

  • Providing 24/7 Support.
  • Provide Level III Help Desk support and assists other Information Services team members as needed.
  • Ensures all network infrastructure equipment are properly documented, up-to-date with patches and back-up as needed.
  • Performs Network Engineering duties to include network design and documentation, converged network implementation, creates and test disaster recovery scripts.
  • Works closely with the Manager of Technical Services to develop strategy, plans and direction for the Regional converged network and is able to cover for the Technical Services Manager upon request.
  • Serves as technical resource to Information Services team members to deliver excellent customer services in solving all network convergence problems expeditiously.
  • Requires extensive travel between facilities on a daily basis.
Qualifications:
Experience/Training/Experience:
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited College or University or Trade School Certificate in related field required.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in related field preferred.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of technical experience as a Network Engineer or Project Leader required, Healthcare experience preferred.

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Certification of ACA (Avaya Certified Associate) and/or CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) and/or MSCA (Microsoft Certified System Engineer) preferred.
  • Must have valid California Driver’s License and reliable transportation.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have demonstrable expertise in supervising, critical thinking and decision making in an enterprise technical environment.
  • Must have knowledge of PC and applications.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of network infrastructure equipment (servers, router, switches, wireless access points, internet appliances, firewall, VPN hub)
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of network concepts (Ethernet, Fiber, TCP/IP, Asynchronous, etc.)
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of Avaya Phone Switch and Voice Mail Administration.
  • Demonstrates thorough troubleshooting skills in repairing all types of network converged equipment.
  • Demonstrates solid understanding of converged network.
  • Demonstrates ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment and takes individual responsibility for resolving customer’s issues.
  • Demonstrates ability to choose courses of action using sound and logical judgment.
  • Demonstrates use of intuition and insight in decision-making when appropriate.
