The Position
The Business Development Director is responsible for driving pipeline conversion to ensure that sales goals are met or exceeded. This people manager role requires a proactive, results-oriented sales management professional with a passion for coaching and developing. The Business Development Leader is a key member of the Sales leadership teams accountable for supporting aggressive revenue growth across North America.
Your Responsibility
The Business Development Director will manage a team of business development reps (BDRs) in Jacksonville, FL and a couple of top performing BDRs that work remotely
- Create and implement a range of outbound content using systems like Outreach to engage with prospects, regularly monitoring the results and iterating where required.
- Craft sales scripts, working cross-functionally with Marketing and Sales Enablement to ensure consistency and effectiveness of our messaging.
- Work closely with management across the globe, to share learnings and maintain alignment.
- Own, update and maintain the BDR playbook and library of training materials, ensuring that both new starters and existing team members have access to everything they need to perform highly.
Main Duties
As the leader of the Business Development Representatives you will be responsible for hiring, onboarding, training, mentoring, and managing BDRs. You will provide day-to-day coaching and professional development to ensure the team continues to grow and develop. As the leader you can expect to:
- Allocate accounts and determine the make-up of BDR teams, ensuring each team is balanced in terms of complementary skill sets and diversity.
- Design, implement and oversee team performance reviews and career progression plans, ensuring BDRs remain challenged, rewarded, and engaged, and are developed and progressed into other roles within the company.
- Oversee BDR activity, ensuring all individuals are achieving targets and team-based quotas
- Collaborate with the sales executives to ensure a smooth hand-off of new opportunities and review the quality of sales opportunities on a regular basis.
- Design and implement a reporting framework for your teams to follow.
- · Measure and report on progress by team, territory and individual - identifying trends or bottlenecks and implement mechanisms to improve results.
- Use your reports to accurately forecast activity and pipeline. Keep up to date on sales trends to increase your credibility in the industry – for example subscribing to blogs/podcasts, read books, research case studies.
- Learn about the experiences other customers have with Medius, so that you can apply these successes and learnings to your conversations.
Qualifications and Essential Experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2- 3 years managing a team of BDRs at a fast-paced, global SaaS company.
- 2+years’ software sales management experience
- Prospecting - you have an innate understanding of what it takes to reach prospects and book meetings.
- Strong recruiter - you intrinsically understand the attributes that are essential to be a successful BDR and know how to assess and identify them in candidates. You attract and engage the best candidates on the market.
- Observant and analytical - you can identify and diagnose information to draw insights and conclusions. You can present this information in a structured and meaningful way.
- Influential leader and coach - you engage and motivate teams to succeed. You can help BDRs be better at their role, as well as able to help Senior BDRs coach BDRs.
- Strategic - relying on observations and data, you can design and implement plans that will achieve long-term success.
- Familiarity with tools such as Salesforce, ZoomInfo, Gong, LinkedIn Navigator and Outreach.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
