Regional Emergency Shelter Team (REST) is a non-profit Christian organization provider of services, winter shelter, and working with community partners to provide housing opportunities to the homeless and those at risk of homelessness in Yuba-Sutter Counties. We serve adult women and men, veterans, families, and youth each year at several locations within our community. The base of the operations is at our Partner location Hands of Hope in Yuba City, which is the Yuba-Sutter counties largest homeless services center.

The Regional Emergency Shelter Team Director is an important part of the mission to help provide a safe sheltered environment for our homeless population during the winter season. During the off-season duties include facilitating connections within the community by outreach, fundraising and fostering an atmosphere of collaboration between the community and REST. The intent is to provide the unhoused community a safe space, while fostering joint operational connections between other agencies, community leaders and community partners who share the same goals.

Benefits

  • Compensation range for this position will be between $28,000.00 to $32,000.00 yearly salary based on skill level. Ideal candidate will work 20 to 30 hours a week, The working hours are flexible during the offseason but more structured from December 1 to April 1 during the winter program. The candidate selected will have benefits that include paid time off, opportunity for continuing education related to the position and other related work compensation.

Responsibilities

    *Responsible for verbal and written communications to include but not limited to, grant writing, policy and procedures, community outreach and day-to-day interactions *Responsible for planning, organization, and direction of the organization’s operations and programs. *Develop and implement consistent inventory and cost accounting policies, procedures, and operational reporting/metrics. *Oversee and report on the organization’s results for board of directors. *Prepare accurate and timely analyses that capture and communicate fundraising results, variances, and performance trends. *Provide leadership to and manage the efforts of site staff to ensure appropriate support of all departments. *Supervise the development of operations-based financial modeling. *Coordinate and lead annual budget reviews, monthly and quarterly reviews, and periodic forecast updates with the Board of Directors *Facilitate major systems implementation related to cost and inventory control with Board of Directors *Retain a diverse, highly qualified staff and volunteers by providing career coaching, growth, and personal development for workers. *Maintain a working environment that promotes and educates Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programs *Ensure that services and funding relationships are robust enough to meet or exceed strategic goals and objectives.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements

    *Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Marketing, or Business Management preferred *5 or more years of non-profit management experience in an operational environment *5 or more years management or supervisory experience *Valid driver’s license, car insurance and reliable transportation
