Basic Job Functions:
The Day Production Supervisor’s primary responsibility is to take care of the team and get results. They must become a trusted resource to the team in Safety, Profitability, and Growth and Development. The Day Supervisor must spend time with the team and understand their concerns, and ideas and empower them to successfully execute the department’s goals. They must provide continuity across production crews, quality, maintenance, supply, sales, and shipping teams and facilitate open and honest communication. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Candidates must also be safety champions who challenge the team every day to continually improve, and prevent the team from losing focus or becoming complacent.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5 years leadership experience in an Industrial Manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated commitment to Safety
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five (5) years leadership experience in a Rolling Mill or Maintenance department
- Four-year degree or other applicable education, training or certification that demonstrates a desire for growth and personal development.
