HOW TO APPLY:
The West Virginia Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program (WVBCCSP) Tracking and Follow-Up Nurse (TFU) is responsible for reading, interpreting and documenting clinical reports from healthcare providers and entering the information into the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) database. The TFU Nurse is responsible for ensuring that women receive timely screening and diagnostic procedures.
The Incumbent maintains knowledge of the WVBCCSP and its policies and procedures. Establishes effective working relationships with healthcare providers to provide technical assistance regarding standards of care for breast and cervical issues, obtain current screening and diagnostic information and ensure correct invoicing procedures. Incumbent reviews all clinical reports and enters into the CDC CaST database. Requests additional information from providers to complete patient cycles in a timely manner. Follows up on WVBCCSP/Diagnostic and Treatment (D&T) Fund billing issues as needed. Monitors pending reports to assure timely diagnosis and treatment.
Incumbent participates in WVBCCSP meetings and activities as instructed by Nurse Supervisor and Program Director. Maintains knowledge of WVBCCSP, D&T Fund, and Medicaid Treatment Act (MTA) eligibility, policies and procedures. Maintains knowledge of community resources and current treatment for breast and cervical cancer. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Training: Baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited four-year college or university and two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a registered professional nurse.
OR
Successful completion of an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university or a diploma nursing program and three years of experience as a registered professional nurse.
OR
Professional certification from a recognized national nursing certifying organization as a nurse or nurse practitioner in the area of assignment plus two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a registered professional nurse.
OR
Successful completion of an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university or a diploma nursing program; plus baccalaureate degree in the health sciences or behavioral sciences and two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in nursing.
OR
Master's degree in nursing from an accredited four-year college or university.
Special Requirement: Current West Virginia license or temporary permit to practice as a registered professional nurse.
